Montana TECH Primers

Metal Primer Reddish brown matte not for aluminum 

Provides a neutral surface of which to apply additional coatings onto metal surfaces. Developed for optimal pre-treatment of metal (Iron or brass) and mineral surfaces with, protection against scratching and denting. A clean, dry surface is best suited before applying primer. Please note that complete curing of the METAL PRIMER (24 hours or more) is recommended before applying more coatings. Additional coating is possible with the Montana TECH, and Montana Cans color ranges. Apply primer in several thin layers spraying before the previous coat is fully dry, but with 1 or 2 minutes between each pass. Further coats might require a drying time of 24 hours or more.  

Can be used on: 

  • Metal, (Iron or brass) mineral surfaces with, protection against scratching and denting

 

Aluminium Primer Light grey matte 

This primer creates a neutral surface on aluminum to be coated with acrylic, NC (nitro-combi) or synthetic-based lacquers. Apply multiple thin layers in sweeping motions and allow 5 minutes to dry between coats. Coating with colors can take place after 2-4 hours of drying time. Further coats with products other than Montana might need 24 hours or more of drying time depending on the coating. 

  • Resistant against flaking / cracking on aluminum
  • Limited results on copper and zinc 
  • For best results sand surfaces with fine sandpaper before primer

 

Plastic Primer  semi gloss transparent white (not recommended for soft plastics )

Ideal for sealing and preparing plastic materials, seals porous surfaces and reduces the risk of tearing or cracking. Due to the varied chemical make-up of plastics  test for compatibility. Curing time is 24 or more hours depending on surrounding temperature and moisture levels.

  • Polyurethane (PUR)
  • Polystyrene (PS)
  • Polyamide (PA)
  • Polypropylene rubber
  • Modified (EPDM)
  • Acrylic butadiene styrene plastics (ABS)
  • Glass-fiber reinforced plastics (GfK)
  • Hard polyvinyl chloride (Hard-PVC)

 

Polystyene Primer Beige/brown matte

Nitro-Combi based design, ideal for sealing / preparing polystyrene and styrofoam based items. Seals porous surfaces and counteracts against agitation of solvent based when coated. Due to the varied chemical make-up of polystyrene, testing material for compatibility is suggested. After primer is cured/dried (Curing time is 24 or more hours depending on surrounding temperature and moisture levels), you can apply any Montana-Cans color, TECH or EFFECT spray.

Can be used on: 

  • Polystyrene/ Styrofoam
  • Mulitiple layers are needed( let layer dry before adding another ) if item is very porous
  • Curing time is 24 or more

 

 

Universal Primer White semi gloss

White semi gloss  a Nitro-Combi based configuration which yields a neutral color base for any of the Montana GOLD,  BLACK or  WHITE color catalogue. Ideal for sealing and preparing surfaces (sealing  porous surfaces and protects from the elements) assists in adhesion maximizes coverage of further coatings. Curing time is 24 or more hours depending on surrounding temperature and moisture levels.
